Prices and contracts

How much does monitoring cost?

Monitoring is $40 a month on the WiFi Plan or $50 a month on the Cellular Plan. Prices as of October 2026.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Monitoring is month to month.

What does a site visit cost?

Nothing. The site visit is free and there is no obligation. You get a written quote, and the quoted price is the price.

What if the install takes longer than planned?

We pay for it. We do not add hours to your quote. The price only changes if you change what you want installed.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Everything we install is covered for 1 year, parts and labour. Read the warranty terms.

Installs and equipment

Can you take over my existing alarm or cameras?

Often, yes. Many cameras built to the ONVIF standard, a common standard for security cameras, can connect to a new system. We check your equipment for free at the site visit.

Do I need a landline?

No. Ajax hubs send alarms over the internet. On the Cellular Plan, they also send alarms over the cell network.

Do the sensors need batteries?

Yes. Most Ajax sensors run for years on one set of batteries. The app warns you before a battery runs low.

I rent my home. Can I still have a system?

Yes. Wireless sensors mount with few holes, and the system can move with you.

How long does an install take?

Most systems are installed and working within two weeks of the site visit.

How fast do you reply to a request?

Within 24 hours. If it is urgent, call (250) 597 2628.

Monitoring

Who answers when my alarm goes off at night?

A live operator at our ULC listed partner station, 24 hours a day. The operator follows your call list, then sends police or fire when needed.

What happens if my internet goes down?

On the Cellular Plan, your system keeps sending alarms to the station over the cell network. On the WiFi Plan, alarms cannot reach the station while the internet is down.

What is a verbal password?

A word you give the station operator to prove who you are. It is not your alarm code.

Areas we serve

What areas do you serve?

Vancouver Island from Victoria to Campbell River, and the Gulf Islands. Our office is at 157 Trunk Rd, Duncan, BC V9L 3T8.

Do you install on the Gulf Islands?

Yes. We install and service systems on Salt Spring, Pender, Galiano, Mayne, Saturna, Thetis, Gabriola, Denman and Hornby. For island properties, we recommend the Cellular Plan, because it keeps working when the internet goes down.
