Security for farms and acreages
Alarms and cameras that cover the house, the barn, the shop and the gate. Wireless sensors reach far across your property. The Cellular Plan keeps the system online where the internet is weak.
What we cover on a typical acreage
- HouseDoor and motion sensors, plus smoke, heat and CO detectors.
- Shop and barnSensors with cameras. In unheated buildings, we use outdoor rated sensors.
- Gate and laneAn outdoor motion sensor with a camera, or a camera on the lane.
- Fuel and equipmentOutdoor sensors with cameras on the fuel tank and the yard.
- Far buildingsA range extender relays the signal back to the hub.
We plan each system on a free site visit.

Live operators answer every alarm
Built for distance
Long range radio
Sensors talk to the hub by radio. An Ajax outdoor sensor with a camera reaches up to 1,700 m in open space. Trees and buildings cut the range, so we test it on site.
Range extenders
An Ajax ReX 2 extender lets sensors with cameras sit twice as far from the hub. It can also connect to the hub over your network from another building.
Outdoor sensors with cameras
They watch the yard and the gate. They run on batteries, so they need no wiring. Every alarm comes with photos.
Backup power
The hub and the extenders have backup batteries. The ReX 2 runs up to 38 hours on its battery.

Animals and false alarms
Outdoor sensors can see large animals. We aim and set each sensor to cut false alarms, and the photos show you what tripped it.
What happens at 2 am
A sensor trips
A sensor at the shop sees movement and takes photos.
The station gets it
The alarm goes to our ULC listed partner station over the cell network.
An operator calls you
The operator follows your call list. The photos are already on your phone.
Help is sent
The operator asks police to attend, under your local rules.
ULC listed means the monitoring station meets the Underwriters Laboratories of Canada standard for alarm monitoring.
Monitoring plans
For most acreages we recommend the Cellular Plan. It keeps sending alarms when the internet is down.

Questions about rural properties
We have no internet at the barn. Will it work?
Yes. The sensors talk to the hub by radio. A range extender can relay the signal from far buildings, and the hub can send alarms over the cell network.
Will animals set off the sensors?
Outdoor sensors can see large animals. We aim and set each sensor to cut false alarms, and the photos show what tripped it.
Can the sensors handle an unheated barn?
Often, yes. Ajax outdoor sensors work down to minus 25 °C. The hub goes in a heated space, such as the house.
Can I see the yard from my phone?
Yes, with cameras. Some sensors with cameras can also take a photo when you ask.
Which plan is best for an acreage?
The Cellular Plan, at $50 a month. It keeps sending alarms when the internet is down.
