Why people switch to us
Most people call us for one of these reasons.
A long contract
Our monitoring is month to month. You stay because the service is good, not because a contract says so.
No one local to call
You call our office in Duncan. The people who install your system are the people who service it.
An old system
A panel that sends alarms over a landline stops working when you drop the landline. Old cellular radios stop working when the carrier shuts down that network.
Alarms that no one answers
A camera that only records does not call anyone. With monitoring, a live operator answers every alarm, 24 hours a day.
What can often stay
A switch often costs less than a new system, because we keep the parts that still work.
Cameras
Many cameras built to the ONVIF standard, a common standard for security cameras, can connect to a new recorder and show in the Ajax app.
Wired sensors
Door contacts and motion sensors that are wired in can often connect to the new Ajax hub through an add on module. That means less new wiring.
Your panel
Some panels can connect straight to our monitoring station. Others are locked to the old company. If yours is locked, we install a new Ajax hub.
How the switch works
We plan the switch so your monitoring does not stop. The old service stays on until the new one is live.
Free site visit
We visit and check your panel, sensors, cameras and how alarms get out.
Written quote
You get a written price for what stays, what changes and the monthly plan. The quoted price is the price.
Install and connect
We install what is new, connect the system to our ULC listed partner station and set up the app on your phone.
Cancel the old service
When we tell you the new monitoring is live, you cancel the old one, in writing.
ULC listed means the monitoring station meets the Underwriters Laboratories of Canada standard for alarm monitoring.
Monitoring plans
Two plans, both month to month. Choose the Cellular Plan if your internet is not reliable, or for a cabin, dock or island property.

Questions about switching
Can you take over a system from another company?
Often, yes. It depends on your panel, and we check it for free. If the panel is locked to the old company, we replace it with an Ajax hub and keep the wired sensors and cameras that can connect to it.
What do I do about my contract with the old company?
Read it for the end date and any fee to cancel early. Keep the old monitoring until we tell you the new monitoring is live. Then cancel it in writing.
Is there a contract with EcoSecurity?
No long term contract. Monitoring is month to month. The WiFi Plan is $40 a month and the Cellular Plan is $50 a month.
Do I need a landline?
No. Ajax hubs send alarms over the internet. On the Cellular Plan, they also send alarms over the cell network.
Does a switch cost more than a new system?
Often it costs less, because we keep the parts that still work. You see the full price in writing before any work starts.
